FAILING TO PREPARE, IS PREPARING TO FAIL
With the First Class season having been brought forward into the first week of April as a matter of course now, and the coming season arguably more important than ever for Nottinghamshire CCC, particularly in the red ball game; having a good start, following good preparation in the preceding weeks would seem to be what is needed, so why allow your top quality head coach to swan off doing another job on the side, coaching a franchise team in alien conditions just weeks before the English season starts? Sure, PM might pick-up some new tricks along the way, that may benefit Notts Outlaws in the long run (perhaps) but should he really be best served being at Trent Bridge in February, not Covid dodging around the globe?
On the other hand Mick, if PM isn't really needed anymore - why not just say so!
Don't mention the PSL I did but I think.........
ReplyDeleteIs that a new test for Omricon?
DeleteHe go crazy.
DeleteHas PM got a second job as an MP ?
ReplyDeleteI hear MN is working as a delivery rider for Uber Eats around West Bridgford, but only on week days because for the rest of the week he is fully focussed on all matters Trent Racquets.
DeleteDon't be daft.
DeleteIts every man for himself these days!
ReplyDeleteLoyalty to the cause seems to have diminished somewhat
This ormrod variant is a concern
ReplyDeleteIn Newark they've sussed the Omricon anagram.
DeleteIt was certainly a concern when he signed Paul Strang as overseas Fox road
ReplyDeleteI mentioned ormrod once, but I think I got away with it
DeleteIs it IPL PM (our one, not the one at No 10) has signed up for, as coach ?
ReplyDeleteIf there is a sporting competition I loathe more than the Hundred, that is the one ! Really has done massive damage and the leading villain of the franchise stampede.
No Rich, just the PSL which doesn't clash with English fixtures but just clashes with the time the coaches say all the hard work is done in preparation.
DeleteAll this talk of franchise cricket.....perhaps Jack Leach thought he was playing in the Big Bash League instead earlier today ?
ReplyDeleteThe England tour party of Australia are obviously under-prepared, lacking confidence, resulting in poor decisions making, confused selections and poor execution. After day 2 they look certain to be relying on the weather to save them. The Lions are the same.
DeleteTwo England players HAVE to score centuries in Englands second innings to save the game
ReplyDeleteWho will rise to the challenge?
Root and Malan promised centuries but were blown away - just like the other lads.
ReplyDeleteCan a returning Broad and Anderson pull us back with some deadly bowling ?!
Don't mention Broad and/or Anderson not playing. Jonathan Agnew mentioned it once and I think he got away with it.
ReplyDeleteHow many times do we go one down in the first test of a series?
ReplyDeleteAnd, who’s to blame for it?is it?
A) the hundred
B)Mark Arthur
C) Allegra Stratton
D) the ormrod variant
E) Tom Harrison
I blame the Australians!
ReplyDeleteFor playing a better game!
Seriously.
Look at the England sides preparation for this first Test .
Hardly ideal.
Time is money these days .
And very few are given enough time to prepare.
What's the odds on a whitewash on this Tour?
What England needs is a Plan B.
ReplyDeleteLike a plan B solved anything, ever...
Seems England catching Notts not preparing habit !
ReplyDeleteAnderson and Broad so needed a match prior to this Test. Why not play for The Lions ?
Know a bit off topic, but you don't go into an Adelaide Test with no front line spinner, even a pink ball match.
No one in the England camp remembered to pack any clues for the trip. Leaving them absolutely clueless!
