Nottinghamshire Members' Forum 2022 #2 There Has To Be a More Productive Time

...at least they recognise it will take longer than 40 minutes, but they've chosen not rescheduled it...

FROM NCCC

Dear Member,

As you will be aware, our governing body, the ECB, are currently approaching the concluding stages of their high-performance review, with a stated mission of bringing sustained all-format success to the England men’s national team.

The review is being led by Sir Andrew Strauss, with more information regarding the process available via his blog on the ECB website, the most recent instalment of which is available to read here…

An invitation has now been circulated for the Chair, Chief Executive and Director of Cricket from each of the First-Class counties to attend one of four meetings during the course of the next week, to be briefed in relation to the outputs and preliminary recommendations of the review.

Given that we had already scheduled a members’ forum for Monday 5 September (day one of the LV= Insurance County Championship fixture against Leicestershire), we believe that it comes at an opportune moment for us to focus primarily on the high-performance review and to share the information at our disposal.

The meeting will commence at the onset of the lunch interval (scheduled for 12.30pm) in the Derek Randall Suite, accessible via the concourse at the rear of the Hound Road Stand.

We will be joined on the panel by Nottinghamshire's Director of Cricket Mick Newell and Head Coach Peter Moores.

The forum is, however, now likely to be longer than the usual 40-minute slot and will include an initial update from the panel, followed by questions from the floor.

We will briefly pause the meeting in order to allow those who wish to return to watching the cricket to do so before we continue.

Those who are not able to attend in person, meanwhile, will be able to do so virtually via Zoom. You can register to receive the link by visiting trentbridge.co.uk/membersforum and completing the provided form.

Following on from the forum, we will continue to provide up-to-date information and keep members fully informed and consulted as the process continues during the weeks ahead.

Thank you for your continued support.

love Lisa and Jeff

As this article[click] tells us, the Strauss review findings will be known to County brass long before the above date but they will be "urged" not to share with us members until the second week of September. What is the point of the Members Forum being scheduled that week when all answers will be lies, evasive or non-committal on the topic of future schedules.

Will we get a vote on how Jeff Moore gets to use his vote? If not why not? If it's a matter of there not being enough time for due process to be seen to have been done, then extend the time period. Start the process earlier!

  4. May be worth asking if Notts will have recipricol arrangements with other counties next year for CC.
What counties are covered this year, please ?
At least a way for members who remain, to see a bit more cricket.
