LPW 4/12 as Derbyshire 2s made 129 all out
Can no one think a batsman (that has forged a career in cricket) from the Notts pathway, since Mick Newell first got a payslip? (see below)
... otherwise you'd cry.
29/11
November has almost ended and still there's no word about Alex Hales from Trent Bridge.
8th July 2021 is the date Pravda trumpeted that Hales had extended his contract with Notts for another two years, to be his "15th and 16th seasons with the club". Well that 16th season ended nine weeks ago and a Hales season with Notts ended many more weeks than that. Indeed, Hales has played in the H*ndered and the CPL since he last donned a Notts shirt.
So, what's the delay from Mr Newell, has he had a change of heart? "You would rather have him with you, than against you", or words that effect, were Newell's defence (to members) in allowing Hales to go White Ball only, two contracts ago (or was it 3). Samit Patel was on a white ball deal only when with Notts latterly, which suited Notts as they were then able to introduce fresh blood into the eleven, but has again returned to the red ball with his two year deal with Derbyshire. In the era of Bazball, does Baz Hales wish to return to red ball too (I doubt it), as Hales said in 2021, “Focusing on white-ball cricket has helped my career immensely. I have the advantage of reporting for duty fully tuned in for the specific demands of the limited-overs game."
Newell in 2021 added, “He’s a terrifically entertaining player for our members and supporters to watch and the next three years could prove to be when we see him at his best.”
2021, 2022, 2023 - three years
Alex Hales debuted for Notts in 2008, making 2023 his 16th season - just to avoid any doubt.
In 2023 for the Outlaws Hales looked jaded and to be carrying an injury too, so will there be one more throw of the dice or not or is Hales looking for greener pastures to refresh his career? We don't know as with most things at Trent Bridge, information is shrouded in secrecy, but the delay is inviting speculation.
The captaincy sweetner to any new contract for Hales has been dealt elsewhere. again inviting further speculation.
What's going on Notts?
10/11
Matt Carter has agreed another one year extension to his stay at Trent Bridge, although now just on a white ball deal (which in his case is likely to be a T20 only deal, especially as Pravda felt the need to reference the Parasite Ricketts in their article).
07/11
Freddie yesterday, and now Fateh today with new deals, but still no word on Matt Carter and Alex Hales...
and at some point an announcement was made on Pravda that Sammy King had had his contract extended by a year.
26/10
Winter Franchise Gigs for some on Pravda
Lots of mentions of Alex Hales, who is yet to have signed a new contract with his summer employers, as far as public knowledge is concerned.
24/10
Will Mick Newell act to fill the long term gap left by Ben Duckett who has been given a two year Central Contract with England? Josh Tongue has also bagged a similar deal to Duckett, but long term casualty Olly Stone has lost his deal with England and now becomes Notts' problem full time.
17/10
As ECB announce their Lion Winter Campers, and congratulations to Lyndon for making the cut again; we ought to be wary of new signings that have a dose of Lions duty prior to joining Notts. Previously we've had Paul Coughlin and Zak Chappell, both signed by Notts for the next season and both wintered with the Lions prior to starting with Notts; neither came close to the Club's, Mick Newell's or supporters' expectations playing for Notts in the years that followed that winter. Yet, Josh Tongue is destined to drink from the poisoned chalice this time before joining Notts this for the 2024 season. There is one difference with this signing however, expectations are already low. Will we get him on the field at all in 2024, 2025 or 2026?
07/10
Back in 2020 Matt Carter signed a contract for up to the end of the 2022 season
A one year contract was trumpeted in November last year. Should we expect an announcement next month?
02/10
Matt Carter is at Disneyland Paris at the moment - write your own headline.
01/10
Alex Hales and Matt Carter contracts or releases pending unless they do something under the radar as they did with Joe Clarke last season. Sammy King was on a rookie deal and latterly has shown more promise than Ben Martindale (who had a poor Metro Bank and found difficulty getting out of his crease) who they gave a longer deal to earlier in the season, so hopefully Sammy's already secured a deal.
Next season there are 10 names on the list, headed by the Head Coach.
26/09
Pravda have announced that Jake Ball will be released at the end of this season. It is understood that he has been offered a better deal by another county, not that subject has been mentioned by the unprobing questions asked on Pravda. So who's next out of the exit? Alex Hales or Matt Carter?
24/09
We're into the last week of the cricket and there are still several Nottinghamshire players that will be out of contract once their current deal expires in 2023 (it might be at the end of this month)- or at least decisions / extensions haven't be made public.
08/09
So Notts have ended Samit's career at Notts by announcing his release yesterday.
Sammy King showed some promise earlier in the week at Kidderminster where Carter and Ball also played half a game each. Where will the axe fall on that trio?
Alex Hales remains the next big announcement...
Jack Haynes scored 1 and 10 back in the Pears' first XI this week.
26/08
Jack Haynes, dropped by Worcestershire for being out of form, hasn't played since the 19th July. Jack didn't even play for a weakened eleven against the New Zealanders yesterday. To an outside observer, the dropping might have more to do with his signing a contract with another county that his actual form. News of the signing was broken by Pravda on the 24th July.
Article about Junior and Senior Haynes
19/08
It's something like three weeks since Calvin Harrison signed his new contract with Notts and Stuart Broad took Sky's golden road to retirement and there hasn't been any word on the other players employed by Notts CCC that will be free agents come the end of contracts that will expire this year.
Jake Ball, who in the past week has turned his arm over for the Welsh Firemen, but hasn't played in a Notts winning Championship side for donkey's years.
Alex Hales, who carries on where he left off in the Blast now in the H*ndred, disappointing his supporters. How long have we been waiting for that next big innings? Talk is that he will be the next Outlaws T20 captain, but he'll need to negotiate a new deal before then and there'll be so many franchise opportunities before 2024.
Matt Carter has played a game for his franchise since he played for Notts but appears to be a player this year without a purpose, just going through the motions and probably needs a change and to play more cricket in my opinion.
Samit Patel, will be joining Derbyshire if the rumours are to be believed. Why there's a delayed announcement if that cat is really out of the bag; who knows? It's a move that wouldn't go down well with the Trent Bridge Blast element of supporters, but we've already seen the best of Samit Patel and he could linger on for three or four more years before he recognises the decline in his own performances. Could Peter Moores cope with the loss of both Samit Patel and Matt Carter from his Outlaws Blast XI? Perhaps there's a T20 specialist coach on the horizon for Notts Outlaws too.
Sammy King, starved of opportunity at a club aversive to change.
Spaces have to be made for the Pear influx in 2024 but can anyone see how Jack Haynes solves any of the existing shortcomings of the current squad? Perhaps they're making a shortcoming for him to fill (replacing a departing Hales as opener?)
I was told that Notts had lined-up an unnamed Overseas player for September 2023, but that hasn't been announced either. Mr Moores had been given a choice. Has that now fallen through?
By implication, using Pravda modus operandi guidelines, if any of the five players were set to renew their contract, wouldn't it have been broadcasted already? So, do we have to assume that Hales, Patel, Carter, Ball and King are all departing?

I've found this unattributed list online, how accurate it is is unclear but recent activity does support most of its content.
Any news, or rumours, on Jake ?
ReplyDeleteHaynes is a good signing will play all formats' Pennington will as well but again injuries prone could end up like stone
ReplyDeleteTongue will more likely follow in broads
Footsteps & be only available for small amount of games per season regarding players out of contract I would let them all go' time for a reset they've been great servants to the club but there best is behind them just like moors & Teflon
When was Teflon at his peak?
DeleteTeflon’s finest career moment to date was about 3 seasons ago when accepting a biscuit from the steward with his afternoon cup of coffee on the committee balcony. I witnessed a fluid, graceful movement by him that day almost reminiscent of that lazy, languid, cover drive for 4 by Lord Gower at his peak. Both perfectly in charge of proceedings with high levels of skill and control, completely mastered by hours of practice down the years.
ReplyDeleteI think the older Baz(Hales) gets, the harder he is finding it to stay in form between the tournaments he plays in, or perhaps the pitches have just not suited him ???!
Matt Carter back with the mob again, Rocketteering today. He even bowled his full 3.2 overs.
ReplyDeleteI see tongue's now injured?
ReplyDeleteShould have signed Tom Taylor
ReplyDeleteYes & jack Taylor from Gloucestershire
ReplyDeleteBoth exciting big hitting all- rounders
Pennington and Pat Brown playing today for the Pears 🍐 v Hampshire but Jack Haynes not selected and obviously Josh Tongue is injured who would be in the Hindred in any event
ReplyDeleteWith pat brown going to Derbyshire
ReplyDeleteThe thinking at Worcestershire may be to cut there losses as all three have been very injury prone over there careers at new road' tongue is my worry' yes he was
Going to call time on what would have been a very short career you do have to ask the question does he have the hunger
To preform when things get tough
I put him in the same league as jake
Being a bit fragile
I believe Haynes is injured.
ReplyDeleteHe was in their squad 25 July v Glo but didn't make the eleven and hasn't played a game since.
DeleteI wonder if Mr Newell had ever examined the injury records of Chappel, Stone, Pennington, and Tongue prior to signing them.?
ReplyDeleteObviously not, is the answer.
I am sure he wouldn't be so keen on signing them, if he had to foot the bill, for their 3 year plus contracts. Profligacy or what.
80 NOT OUT
ReplyDeleteLooking back over the Notts signings of non performing injury prone bowlers makes Trent Bridge more like a convalescent home than a training centre. If you need constant treatment and a juicy 3 year contract then come to Notts ccc - others have.
Am I being unkind?
The players of today are total mollycoddle
ReplyDeleteThe bowlers have nowhere near the workload of the players before the change to the championship structure which included the Sunday league' natwest cup
As well as the B&H cup you were very lucky if you received a day off they were the good old days I really wonder how the players of today would cope with that schedule
80 NOT OUT
ReplyDeleteTHEY DONT MAKE EM LIKE THEY USED TO ! ( fast bowlers that is)
As Fred Trueman used to say “ I dont understand whats going on !?”
Statham and Trueman and many others played five day Tests Thurs / Frid/ Sat / Mon /Tues then they went back to their Counties to start a 3 day County Match ( anywhere in England) on the Wednesday !
Its hard to believe it now .

ReplyDeleteAS THE SONG GOES oh p
“ shall I stay or shall I go?”
Or perhaps it’s not been decided?
Perhaps comes down to the money that the players Agent Asks for
Alex is worth less than before because he only delivers occasionally . He is no longer a match winner .
Carter ? What is there to say ! Lose a couple of stone , get fitter and faster , spend the winter in the gym and nets . You just think he could achieve far more than he has so far !?
Jim G.
DeleteCompletely agree.
80 NOT OUT
ReplyDeleteAll quiet on the Western Front.
If you’re the type to coast along in life l( and I’m not suggesting for one moment that Matt Carter is, I’ve never met the bloke) but just suppose you are, then an annual contract in The Hindred, on top of your existing Notts contract) is probably not going to force you into any great motivation to start each new season with real drive, focus and ambition to be the best player of yourself you can become(like a Paul Franks or James Taylor type of character for example)
ReplyDeleteAlways remember Mick Newell(when he had his old job) saying when he signed a new player he always had to know what their motivation was for playing. Sounds unbelievable to myself as it would have been a dream job playing County Cricket 🏏, but like Teflon said, some players play the game just because it’s better than working for a living
80 NOT OUT
ReplyDeleteYES -travelling the world , stopping in top hotels , washing and ironing done , food cooked , being well paid for Franchise work - what’s not to like ? As was mentioned —It beats working for a living !!??

ReplyDeleteQuite possible Alex Hales agent is trying to negotiate a two year deal at terms that do not now reflect his waning match winning powers?
For Notts , realism is the name of the game .
Same with Carter . Are Notts just offering him a one year deal and he wants a two year one .
Are other clubs queuing up to sign either one now they are out of contract?
It appears not .
What does the rumour mill say is happening ?
Or not happening !
Oh I do miss the sadly now departed Phil Measures “Hales Fails” post every time he showed the inconsistency that affects almost every opening batsman in franchise cricket 🏏
DeleteWord to Peter the Cautious, if our 50 over side is full of last years run accumulators, may be an idea 💡 to actually play Sammy King who proved versus Lanky at Welbeck that he was one who could find the boundaries
I'm so pleased I'm not a member anymore.
ReplyDelete80 NOT OUT .
ReplyDeleteAs I posted on here a few days ago there was only a one year deal being offered to Matt Carter - and a white ball one at that . Do those in charge think he is not fit enough overall to play the longer red ball game?
I suspect Alex Hales is only being offered a one year deal and on reduced terms . Look at Alex stats for Last season . Didn’t score many runs for us and didn’t produce a single match winning innings ?
The Baz Bashers Club
ReplyDeleteYes these white ball contracts dished out are absolutely perfect at Notts CCC
As mentioned above an automatic place with the Trent Deep Pockets or a cushy coaching role with the same, means you’re only playing 14 Blast games in all reality
It’s very unlikely you will ever have to put yourself through those nasty 50 overs games once you’ve signed such a deal ?
Bet your life like a silver ball, spin it 'round a wheel
ReplyDeleteWill it land on a black or a red
The Outlaws got no deal.
Loosing Hales isn't going to sell many tickets so they're keeping it quiet
ReplyDeleteI think Baz is worth another 2 years
ReplyDeleteHe may only be 60% of his absolute peak but that’s still a very decent t20 opening batsman
Players in Baz’s position in t20 are nearly all inconsistent, it’s just the nature of the beast when you’re looking for boundaries in the PP and often against top class opposition bowlers

ReplyDeleteQuestions
How many balls did Alex Hales face last season whilst wearing a Notts shirt ?
Secondly - how many runs did he score for Notts last season ?
Baz Bashing
ReplyDeleteTalking of Hales, I see he is in Abu Dhabi playing t10 for Team Abu Dhabi
Today he only scored 13 off 9, so time for the classic “Hales Fails” headline to reappear
You would really think he would take the time to play himself in, in this 10 over format
80 NOT OUT .
ReplyDeleteDont know Alex H overall figures- runs scored this calender year . But he is still in demand all over the world and no doubt making a pretty lucrative living . Wouldnt mind being in Abu myself this morning what with the milk delivered this morning being frozen and the dustbin lid frozen into place .
Alex hasnt much time left on the top stages so he is earning every penny he can - while he can !
Baz Bashing
ReplyDeleteHales 20 off 18 today in another 10 over thrash
Could still warrant another legendary “Hales Failes” from some departments?
Alex is doing what he wants to do, which is fine.
ReplyDeleteBut I feel sad, as he seemed to me, to have the potential to be a fine Test player, and did show signs of that in the Tests he did play.
For me being a fine Test player is worth more than the additional cash, money would have been pretty good had he cut it at Test level.
But
1) I talking theory, I am not in his situation.
2) I am a hopeless romantic who loved a sport where we had batsmen who batted, rather than batters who batter.
Yes, I agree Rich
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Hales had got his Test chance in this new Stokes and Baz McCullum era whether he could have prospered? He is certainly as a good an opener as Zak Crawley(if not better) but emphasis wasn’t on being so attack minded and positive when our Baz got his limited chances
And as you say, he did so shows signs of making the transition after struggling initially in the role
And yes, I think an England 🏴 Test career still carries a lot more prestige and gravitas than slogging for 10 overs for one of the Desert 🐪 Camel brigade
I suppose it’s the easiest way for them to get Mull into a coaching role but surely he is taking most of the General’s job away from him, depending on how often he actually plays for the Notts 1st team ?
ReplyDeleteI also wonder 💭 when all this was hatched ? We know Pravda will announce this information on a strategic basis.
Are they lining-up The General to takeover from Peter Moores when his (PM) contract expires in 2024? None of this is helping to bring new ideas to the club, to refresh the club and to escape from the tired, stale mindset of this Newell regime. It's not like Notts have the winning formula, beating everyone in all formats and have a problem with an inadequate trophy cabinet. The club needs a reboot.
DeleteUnbelievable are they for real.Get ready for those 3 words.Stone ? ?.
ReplyDeleteMost generous of peter moores to compensate stone, after he missed out on the hundred.
DeleteCan’t beat looking after your mates ? Straight after hearing Mull’s news 📰, comes this priceless gem 💎
DeleteWouldn’t it be hilarious if he stays fit for the BBL but then gets crocked again for the start of the new Notts season
I’m sure there would be some sort of accountability in the real world for the personnel occupying the lofty positions at TB ?
Surely he'll bag a gig in the PSL as well before pulling-up lame ready for April's physio's table workout.

ReplyDeleteCAN SOMEONE WITH RECORDS TELL ME
A- when did Ollie Stone first appear as a Notts employee ?
B- how many balls has he bowled for Notts in the First Team ?
A. Read this on Nottsview from last year https://nottsview.blogspot.com/2022/10/olly-stone-on-six-years-bear.html
ReplyDeleteB 333 balls, 3 of which were in his T20 game, the rest were in the championship last April
In the brief outings he had in the red ball outfit at the start of the season before pulling up lame for the first time, he appeared to offer more with the willow lower down the order than he did with the new cherry 🍒 in his mit
DeleteI’m a little bit surprised Pravda deemed this as a good news 🗞 story given the events of his first season with us ????

You just wonder where Players loyalties are these days .
Quick riches in the sun for not very much toil seems to appeal to many .
The cricket world is changing fast - we have just got to get used to it.
Players no longer want to retire from the game at 34 and open a pub , post office or newsagents after having banked a lump sum from their benefit year.
They want to retire in luxury with few financial problems for the foreseeable future !
The T20 and T10 leagues and franchises can deliver that !
( if you play the game and are good enough)
I think we can safely say that this does indeed represent a definite “Hales Failes” then for earlier today
Delete80 NOT OUT
ReplyDeleteIs Alex simply clapped out and needs a rest from criss crossing the world to play cricket 12 months of the year ? As we all know , travelling long distances is in itself pretty tiring . At his age it must be a factor as he never arrives anywhere refreshed . If a new NOTTS ccc contract is to be signed let’s hope he has some petrol ⛽️ left in the tank to score a few match winning 🏆 runs!?
He now must be rapidly dropping down the pecking order of players deemed good signings and who deliver on a consistent basis .He has now been rapidly overtaken by any number of young guns .
Come on Alex - let’s have a couple of quick fire 🔥 centuries to bring back the positive reviews.
Or are those heady days now over?
The boy that runs away to the circus can expect to be always on the move and never settled. Traveling saps your energy and Mr Hales's carbon footprint must be the size of Sri Lanka . It adds up to a business / game plan that is unsustainable in so many ways.
DeleteI thought 💭 Ollie Stone had replaced the injured Haris of Rauf in the Tie Me Kangaroo 🦘 Down Sport competition hence “Adventurous” Pete flying him in ????
ReplyDeleteAm I missing something ? If he had a break from (some of ?) Blast, and he doesn't play other 2 formats for us, what is the point in re-signing him ?
ReplyDeleteThat's a question for the bus driver.
DeleteIt’s a new(and would be the very first) variation on a white ball only contract signed by a player
DeleteLet’s not create extra work for dear old Teflon, it is the holiday period after all
18 off 7…..certainly rapid but probably falls under the “Hales Fails” banner yet again ????

ReplyDeleteALEX H is becoming an embarrassment for NOTTS ccc. Does he actually want to play for us any more ? If he does actually play one or two games is he still up to scoring a few runs.
Alex seems to want the best of all worlds. But that’s no good to NOTTS who seem to have no idea where they stand with him .
Time to let him move elsewhere?
Looking at his recent stats would it be such a loss to NOTTS?
Nice to see Alex Hales (40 off 26 balls) top score for Sydney Thunder today in their five-wicket victory over Melbourne Stars at Albury today. As they say “Form is temporary, class is permanent”. Stars have lost all three games in the Bash and now means Peter Moores record in overseas T20 franchise cricket stands at 13 matches, 1 win and 12 losses following his disastrous spell in charge with Karachi Kings in the 2022 Pakistan Super League.
ReplyDeleteIt's almost as though PM hasn't got a clue about T20 cricket.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the stats MAG.
Thank goodness Alex scored a few. Class is permanent - until age catches up with you !?
Peter Moores record as stated .
How 🙈 embarrassing 😳. He doesn’t seem to achieve much these days but can talk a good fight . Peter could persuade you a batsman with an average of 10 was doing rather well.
The news Hales possibly signed up makes Notts more of a laughing stock. Pick and choose Hales and the useless overweight Carter! Unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteReally not too sure how the Head Coach got this nice little winter blaster ???
ReplyDeleteI think there was some connection with either David Hussey or Dan the Man - or possibly both

Noticed The Rolling Stone is playing another game for MI Cape Town so that’s 2 games in quick succession
DeleteDon’t say - could he finally be fully recovered from his plethora of injuries that have blighted him over recent years ?????
And yes, agree that’s about the level of interest I’ve got in this latest franchise circus 🤡 in its 2nd edition - the whole thing very mundane and tedious indeed and the only little bit of interest is looking at the scores every so often

ReplyDeleteYes it’s all so meaningless . After a while , watching these games is like watching paint dry .
The game of chess has endured for centuries . It’s slow and methodical and players have time to think . Imagine if it was speeded up so that players only had five seconds between moves !?
That’s the way cricket is going .
Yes Tom Moores is the new Gary Kasparov
ReplyDeleteDecent 43 off 32 in a poor total 🟰 of 140 by Sydney Thunder for Alex Baz Hales so he’s certainly pulling his big bash blaster round somewhat and is now well placed in the KFC golden bat table of highest run getters
Same can’t be said of dear old Peter Moores who side Melbourne Stars are now eliminated.

ReplyDeleteAnd I note 📝 also, the very same incumbent is featured on Pravda Twitter taking THAT catch as one of Shaheen Afridi’s 4 wckts in his first over against Birmingham Bears 🐻 last year - what Pravda don’t mention is A) we somehow still lost the game(impossible almost???) and B) did he not(Graham Tayloresque) then limp off for the rest of the season after slinging down a hefty 2 deliveries after that stand out grab ?

DeleteIt's noteworthy that Brett Hutton's contract has been extended ahead of firstly the new season and secondly any of the other (9 or so) players (and coaches) with contracts also ending in 2024, including Luke Fletcher and Tumbledown Tom and his dad.
ReplyDelete80 NOT OUT
ReplyDeleteBRETT is a great asset to the club . Great for him to have signed until the end of 2026 .
Other Notts semi veterans and crocks might also be wishing for a two year deal . One or two will be lucky to get a year. Notts have carried far too many non productive players in the past - some on juicy contracts .Financial rewards for playing cricket full time have increased a lot recently - but so has the required level of fitness demands . Years ago footballers , jockeys and cricketers could get away with not training properly and being not quite right . Those days are gone .
Yes, fully deserved by Brett - much, much better bowler than last time he was with us
DeleteShowed real ability with the willow last season which we all know he possesses as watched him from getting into the Notts 2s side
Alex “Baz” Hales now ripping it up for those devilish Desert 🏜 Vipers 🐍 I see
ReplyDeleteCould Pravda be planning a ‘strategic announcement’ 📣 regarding a new contract for Baz, in the time honoured fashion we’ve become accustomed to, I wonder ?
That was a short stint for Baz for the Vipers - he’s now playing for Khulna Tigers 🐅 in the BPL scoring 60 off 33 with a 180 strike-rate
ReplyDeleteAlso notice Junior Moores has somehow found a gig out there
80 NOT OUT
ReplyDeleteSurprise surprise
Notts today announce Hales has signed a one year white ball contract . I suppose at his age you only get a year at a time ( unless your name is Samit!?)
Passed is best just another journey man going round the franchise merry go round
ReplyDeleteAs been a good servant to Notts over the years' but cricket today is about quantity
Not quality & money unfortunately
Certainly cannot expect Baz to be the same Baz of 2017 so agree he is probably past his absolute best
DeleteBut in t20 sometimes strike rate can be just as important as run scoring and if Hales gets us off to a flier say only 30 runs but off 14 for example you could argue he’s done his bit as opener in the PP for the team
My only criticism is I feel he should play every possible opportunity in white ball he can so he’s bang in form for the the blast 💥 tournament 🏟 when it starts
Even if this means pulverising some young bowler in the opposition 2s it’s still match practice as I feel he is sometimes a bit under-cooked for us when our games start
He would probably say - at my age and experience I know my game inside out and I know what works for me ?
It would be difficult to argue against that with what he’s done for us down all these years I guess
Yes thought he was injured again after not completing his over the other day and then missing the sultans next 2 matches.

ReplyDeleteOLLY injured . Surely not .
Looking forward to him sending down 500 + overs for Notts in 2024 . He owes them that surely?
He'll be missed
ReplyDeleteHe appeared to do pretty well once he had a run of games and got into his bowling rhythm- the big problem is he then gets crocked again and has a spell on the sidelines
ReplyDeleteWho is top of the pops for Notts in terms of spells on the sidelines during your contract ?
Mark Footitt Paul Coughlan Olly Stone or The Chapel 💒 of Rest
Final years of contracts normally provide a cure for these medical case-types allowing them the option of moving to a new employer and this has been documented in my case study 📚 notes 📝
Very true

ReplyDeleteHopefully OLLY will recover quickly and be fighting fit to start the 2024 season for Notts . Presumably he is on an expensive contract so he owes Notts a few wickets after the debacle of last year .
However if he comes back crocked and is unable to play for us - then what?
Notts simply cannot afford to keep non playing players on the books . Are Notts a soft touch in this respect ? History repeating itself ?
Very sad news, quite a family
ReplyDeleteYes, echo sentiments Rich
ReplyDeleteWe used to sit with someone on the Trent Bridge playing field - remember those halcyon days- who knew the French family well and said Charlie could also have made it as a pro-cricketer but unlike Bruce, didn’t have any motivation to pursue this as a career and of course the money wasn’t great back then for a County Cricketer

As you’re such a huge fan of polyester 80no, I will be pleased 😄 to see Rachel in the club shop 🏬 this very Friday to buy you either a t20 or 50 over offering of your choice ?
Delete80 NOT OUT . Thanks for the offer of free merchandise . Generous though it is I shall politely decline .
ReplyDeleteHow can they possible justify charging £50 for the new tops ?
I notice last years gear is now reduced to £22 ( from £50)
I bet they only cost Notts about £10 to buy them in .
It’s all good fun I suppose and brings an identity to many of those fans attending matches.

ReplyDeleteAye laddie 'tis Callum David Fraser-Darling
DeleteBilal Shafayat had a career for nearly ten years with various sides, he must qualify as made it, without being a rip-roaring success.
DeleteYes, I saw Bilal make his first hundred for us when he was about 17 I think from memory ?
DeleteWitnessed the Rolling Stone bowling at Lady Bay today - and yes it was akin to Siberia
Poor oppo granted -but that clean 🧽 striking from Major Tumbling Tom was unbelievable - best I’ve seen down there since Billy Root playing for Cuckney against the Notts Academy I would say
