Pravda: Over 6,500 members have signed up for a summer which will see our refurbished Pavilion unveiled ...
02/05
Micky Temps on Pravda:Nottinghamshire members will be invited to take their seats in a refurbished Pavilion seating terrace in time for England’s Rothesay Test against New Zealand in June.
The seating terrace in front of the historic Trent Bridge Pavilion, featuring padded seats and a prime view behind the bowler’s arm, will be the first element of the project to be completed as work continues at pace on the building and interiors.
“There is no better vantage point at Trent Bridge than the Pavilion seats,” said Nottinghamshire's Commercial Director Michael Temple.
“Members were very clear though that, while they loved the view, they wanted more comfort. We’re installing next-generation seats with padding and drinks holders in a new configuration which has been totally rebuilt after a deep excavation of the old terrace.
“We’ll have to wait a little longer to open the doors to the refurbished Long Room and members’ bar, but we wanted to give all of those members attending the New Zealand Test the opportunity to relocate to Pavilion seats.”
Those members choosing to relocate for the New Zealand Test will be asked to request their preferred Pavilion seats with a request deadline of 5pm on Thursday 14 May. The club will accommodate members' requests wherever possible with any member who is not able to secure their requested seat accommodated as closely as possible.
Members will be contacted with details of their Pavilion allocation from w/c Monday 18 May. Any remaining tickets will go on sale to Nottinghamshire members from Monday 1 June ahead of a general sale of any remaining tickets. Members can submit a relocation request here...
As works continue on the redevelopment, England, New Zealand and India players will continue to change in temporary facilities in the Radcliffe Road Stand during this summer’s internationals.
England face Australia in a 2027 Men's Ashes Test at Trent Bridge, by which time the Pavilion will be fully operational. Phased handover of additional Pavilion facilities will continue throughout the 2026 cricketing calendar.
“Redeveloping a heritage building has proved to be an extremely delicate process, and we’ve been extremely fortunate to be able to utilise temporary dressing room facilities of such a high standard in the Radcliffe Road Stand,” said Michael.
“We’re not yet in a position to confirm when competing teams will be able to access the new dressing rooms, but we’re working hard to gain access to priority areas of the building throughout the summer.
“The plans for the interior and the extent and quality of the facilities will be a major step change for members and players alike, and it will be a proud day for everybody at the club when the ribbon is cut.”

Pravda:
Nottinghamshire supporters will be able to claim their slice of Trent Bridge history in the coming days, with seats from the venue’s historic Pavilion terraces available for collection.
The redevelopment of the centuries-old Pavilion building has reached a significant milestone in recent weeks, with the steel frame of the restored and extended facility now complete.
Ahead of the re-opening of facilities for members next summer, work will commence to enhance spectator seating areas, with new terracing and padded seats installed in front of the Pavilion itself.
The seats which were previously in place at the Stuart Broad End are now, therefore, available for members to take home, in exchange for a discretionary donation to the club’s official charity, the Trent Bridge Community Trust.
“With construction continuing at pace throughout the close season, we’re moving towards a really exciting period in the redevelopment of our Pavilion,” said Nottinghamshire’s Interim Chief Executive Michael Temple.
“Work will soon be able to begin on ensuring our refurbished facility feels like home, with the installation of fixtures, fittings and a healthy helping of touches that honour our heritage.
“At the same time, we’ve taken the opportunity to improve our member seating areas – and ahead of the arrival of those new, more comfortable seats, it feels only appropriate to allow our members to take home a seat from which they may well have witnessed moments of sporting history.
“We hope members will enjoy the opportunity to take home a money-can’t-buy keepsake from our historic venue, and to have a permanent reminder of Trent Bridge at their own home.”
Seats, along with frames and fixings, will be available to collect on a first-come-first-served basis on Thursday 18 December (1pm – 3pm), and Monday 22 December (10am-12pm).
Members who wish to collect a seat should arrive at the venue’s Dixon Gate (on Bridgford Road, opposite the Co Op) during those times, and speak to the gate steward. Limited parking will be available on-site, with further space at the Notts Sports Ground.
Should supporters have further queries, they should email questions@trentbridge.co.uk
Kindly note that the club will be unable to facilitate the delivery of seats to individuals’ homes, and that specific seats cannot be reserved in advance.

Today during Day 1 of the last fixture there was lots of activity surrounding a crane that was lifting steelwork into position

It looks like they've been doing some footings recently - the foundations, an objective person might say that it's back to square one!

It lookes like someone has laid a course of brickwork or two, perhaps they went too far with the knocking down?

I noticed yesterday, the dismantling phase has for now ceased and some of the steel work for upward expansion has now gone in.

Yippee !
ReplyDeleteI have great reservations about this development process regarding cost
ReplyDelete& what the final outcome will be regarding the floor plans all very vague, the shambles of the six restaurant comes to mind
Hope I'm wrong

So the comments on the foundations, by the former exec member, are true.
ReplyDeleteLike the new booklet which landed in the post yesterday stated we hope to welcome you to into the new pavilion next year
ReplyDeleteMore like Bob hope basically stating there not confident in this happening
But I read that it said you could transfer your reserved seating from the lower Hound Road to new seating in the pavilion at no addition cost. I'd find the exact wording but I binned the glossy brochure.
DeleteSo you believe that they are being overly optimistic?
Bob Hope
Trent Bridge hedging their bets.
DeleteFair comment ! I would politely advise the club to work hand in glove with the building regulators, with current and upcoming work. They have to get this right, the consequences of not doing are very serious, financially and reputation wise.
ReplyDeleteSeems confusing information on how
ReplyDeletethe pavilion project is progressing the chairman stated everything's on schedule
But a credible source says it's already 6 week + behind who right I think I know who's version I trust

Love that vintage photo and your crack. Seems strange seeing George Parr's Tree, which I remember well, with no stand in front of it.
ReplyDeleteI suppose it would be quite a good thing to have , If you could find a place for it or perhaps have it in your back garden πͺ΄ permanently ? I think Forest π³ did a similar thing when the Trent End was demolished and gave or perhaps they charged, for you to buy a brick 𧱠if you wanted one for nostalgic value
ReplyDeleteI would like to tell them where they can put their plastic seats.

DeleteRCMC Certificate in Export is an essential document for exporters to legally register with export promotion councils.
ReplyDeleteIt helps businesses access government export benefits, incentives, and schemes.
Having an RCMC certificate builds credibility in international trade.
It is mandatory for claiming duty drawbacks and other export subsidies.
Overall, RCMC simplifies and supports smooth export operations.
By the looks of those pictures with my experience in construction
ReplyDeleteThere's a long way to go & would say there's a minimum 6months to go
Including the fit out which always takes longer' not sure when it was anticipated to be finished by the club
Was it not(as Graham Taylor would have said) supposed to be ready for the Test Match ?
ReplyDeleteDid they not say members that have bought tickets for the Internationals this season in the Lower Hound can transfer their ticket for one in pavilion as and when they become available (as it were).
Delete82 NOT OUT - well the new Pavilion looks enormous from some angles. Shadows cast at certain times may alter the way the ball behaves ? More movement ?
ReplyDeleteI will be amazed if Members are sitting in it by late August
How much shadow is cast, particularly in the extremity months of the season (April/September), remains to be seen.
DeletePrepare to be amazed with regards to members sitting in front of the building site, possibly.
The shadow issue could be a red herring, but if it proves to be a problem, it is likely to be very serious fo tthe club and the venue.
ReplyDeleteIf the sun is out to cast a shadow, then it's unlikely going to cause an issue with light at that time of day (mornings). It'll just give members shade for longer.
DeleteThe question is, and maybe the answer is no, will the new pavilion cast a shadow over the wicket ?
ReplyDeleteI guess it’s unlikely that Oasis would ever play at Trent Bridge, but if somehow one day they did, we could then be certain it would cast no shadow ?
ReplyDeleteLooking at those pictures I would say it will not be ready until the back end of the summer
ReplyDeleteWell anonymous, if there were any doubt that the pavilion wasn't to be ready for the Test Match, then surely they would be throwing workers at it over the weekends, which they aren't.
DeleteYes Dave that's true but at the same time they may have come to the conclusion that it won't be ready for the test so they won't be chucking valuable money at something that's not achievable in the time scale available
ReplyDeleteI agree. Ambiguous statements from the club aren't necessarily made to mislead but...
DeleteThis is what happens when you don't take advice just like the six disaster
DeleteShould have employed a competent experienced project manager to look after the interests of the club not only to bring the project in on budget but more importantly bring it on time
As in construction time is money so I would thing it will be well over budget & the costs will only increase, I wonder if this was the reason they wanted to increase borrowing
