Chesterfield? Hasn't it always been part of Derbyshire? It does have Sheffield post codes, but now it seems it will host a Home Nottinghamshire cricket match.
*Lancs CCC
The Men’s Metro Bank One-Day Cup competition begins on Tuesday 21 July, with Lancashire hosting Surrey in Sedbergh. Unlike in previous seasons, there will be no National Counties Showcase Fixture prior to the start of the competition.
The venue for the Club’s home matches against Kent Spitfires and Notts Outlaws on Tuesday 28 and Thursday 30 July is still to be confirmed. It is the Club’s intention to host these matches at Farington, but this will depend on progression of the pitch and outfield during the coming months.
Once a venue has been confirmed, ticket sales for those two matches will commence.
Knockout rounds are scheduled for mid-August, with two quarter-finals on Friday 14 August, semi-finals on Sunday 16 August, and the final to be held at Trent Bridge on Sunday 20 September.
So why Chesterfield?
Worksop is no longer viable it seems.
Mansfield never go there, despite efforts.

Shame on Nottinghamshire cricket. Cannot find a suitable ground in their County.
ReplyDeleteQueens Park is a delight if it's a sunny Day miserable when cloudy /chilly.
Enjoy the Day.
Applies pretty much to any game of cricket π really Steve ?

ReplyDeletethank you for anonymous academic point
DeleteSo we are back with just one MB match at HQ and so I will not be rejoining.

ReplyDeletedon't think we will recognise county cricket in 3 to 5 years. The hundred will become another T20. And expand into most of july. County cricket will be
ReplyDeleteA few games in April may sept. Metro will end. Blast won't mean anything with the expansion of the Rockets. England will play more pointless /endless white ball cricket. I think we all know this.
Well, that’s cheered me right up ⬆️ Anon. Maybe so, but I’ll take each season at a time
ReplyDeleteI calculate there’s a whopping ELEVEN days absolute minimum that we can watch the mighty Blaze on our home Test ground.82no will be positively foaming at the mouth with pure excitement like an excited Airedale Terrier that’s eaten too much toothpaste when he realises.
Slightly disappointed that only one Metro π Banker at TB and not keen on 3x4 red ballers in September. Brucie Bonus - two friendly games back again after missing out last season through the obvs π
C’mon Notts & C’mon The Blaze π¦πππ₯π
