James Taylor, the 25-year-old Outlaws batsman, has been named captain of England for the forthcoming ODI against Ireland.

“To be given the opportunity to lead your country is a huge honour," Taylor said.

Having skippered the England Lions since 2011, the diminutive former Leicestershire man took over the captaincy of the Outlaws in limited-overs cricket in 2014, leading his side to the knockout rounds of both the 50 and 20 over competitions.
