Pre-season fixtures announced.

Nottinghamshire will commence their 2017 with the now customary trip to Barbados 13 - 24 March to defend the local T20 Cup and will be competing with Hampshire and Northamptonshire in the process.

After the "holiday in the sun" Nottinghamshire then prepare for the coming season in more familiar conditions with a 2 day knockabout with Glamorgan at Sofia Gardens from 02 April and then a First Class match from 07 April at Fenner's against the Cambridge students.

  1. While he and the club have given the County Championship primacy in 2017, Hales still believes Peter Moores' team can challenge on all three fronts.

"Promotion is the big aim. We are comfortable with our white ball stuff, but aware we need to improve that as well," he said.

"Not getting out of the group stage in the 50 over comp was a big disappointment last season.

"We need to repeat what we did in the T20s, but look to extend it that bit further as getting knocked out in the semi-finals was a shame.

"Our white ball cricket has been good for a number of years so it would be good to get it right in all three forms for a whole season."

    Alex Hales in the post.
