Match abandoned without a sniff of a chance of play owing to rain.

Possibly more akin to a Sopwith Camel these days. Sounds as though your journey was about as much fun as watching a Chris Tavare innings on repeat.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the rain will be the winner - very bleak weather Forcast at Chester Le Street tomorrow.
ReplyDelete40 - 50% chance of rain according to the Met man.
Delete80% chance of rain all day, this morning Met reckon :(
DeleteThe chance of rain has further increased to 90% :(
DeleteWas going up to Durham with ‘her indoors’ for the game and treat her to a night in the spooky Lumley Castle. However it’s only the weather that has scared me off - honest!!
ReplyDeleteI believe you! - seems that there is no prospect of any cricket with the chance of rain increasing to 100% later on. The only hope will be to squeeze 10 Overs in between downpours.
DeleteAre you sure Only Notts! sounds like there's shades of 2005 with Brett Lee&Co ?????? Guess it evens out after 14, but this seems particularly cruel today as the Worcester Raptors forecast is decent and they play a Northants side decidedly lacking in steel this season.
DeleteThere's nothing at present on the club controlled Pravda website/Twitter feed, but I'm reasonably certain theres a 2 dayer on the palatial Lady Bay tomorrow and Tuesday if anyone is interested. This fixture is not on the 2s fixture list and has been recently added presumably ahead of the red ball game starting next Sunday?
ReplyDeleteToday's Match abandoned without a Ball being bowled - so are 2nd in the Division.
ReplyDeleteYes - tomorrow is a 2-Dayer - we'll hopefully show Durham some better weather!!!:
12–13
Mon/Tue
Nottinghamshire
Durham
Second XI Friendly
Start: 11:00
Notts Sports Club
A real bonus the Raptors game a wash out also wins for the bears and falcons sonewhat surprisingly perhaps? Shows just how unpredictable T20 is and also how much I know for spouting about the North group being weak
ReplyDeleteDerbys are playing 2x this coming week before they come to us (on Tues and Thurs). So they will either be shattered or have honed their skills! I am biased but it does seem that the spacing of our games is a little odd
DeleteYes, totally agree.
DeleteDerbyshire currently 169-2 with an over to go.....they are warming up nicely.....
DeleteIt's now a very open Division with just about all Sides having the Quarter Final places still to play for - very exciting indeed.
ReplyDeleteAnd now Derbyshire jump from 8th to 4th after their win of the Worcestershire Rapids - or the Worcestershire not-so-rapids! The North Division is even more exciting with nothing at all yet guaranteed to any of the Sides.
ReplyDelete4 points between second and ninth!!!
DeleteWorcs and Durham will take points off each other on Thursday
