Finals Day Ticketing Ballot Tuesday

Waiting...

Ballot after 5 PM Tuesday

Good Luck!

The BBC has reported that each finalist county will receive 750 tickets

Edgbaston call 750 an increase of allocation for the "sell out" event.

2017 Notts received an allocation of 900 tickets

Tickets will be sold following a ballot of members who have registered an interest on the club's ticketing platform.

At a cost of £86 per adult ticket, how many of the Trent Bridge regulars will be interested?

Certainly more than 900, if it's 900 tickets that is up for grabs and that number hasn't be whittled down by cronies of players, club officials, hangers-on etc (as in previous years) or though, last time I did see Samit's dad queuing up with the rest of us...

Competition from other counties wanting returns from Edgbaston will now have increased with Worcestershire now in the Finals Day mix.

  1. Its a poor show that the Counties get so few tickets. I've had to queue all night twice now to get tickets. I go to all home games and some away games but I did hear from people in the queue that they hadn't got that loyalty.
Then Edgbaston would rather sell tickets to the beer swilling locals, who spend all day buying their over-priced beer, with no interest in the cricket at all.

  2. 'Correct Bear and Pies' - all the T20 Counties are interested in is beer sales - 750 Tickets per County is an utter disgrace.

    1. If I recall right 2016 it was 1100

    2. I can understand it for the lesser supported Counties but Notts have been getting well over 10k per game.
Perhaps the ticket allocation could be done as a percentage of average home attendance?

    3. Per the Edgbaston Site there will also be a Ballot - something like £86 per Ticket!!!

    4. Priority has to be given to the most loyal members first. The ballot should be based on the number of days of cricket attended at Trent Bridge in 2020, the club has this information on their computer and should use it to reward loyality. The price of the ticket £86 however will deter most people particularly given the date of the fixture (21st September - a cold night will be on offer) and the fact that there is no guarantee that Notts will play twice on the day.

    5. make that 2019 rather than 2020!

  3. The club hasn't any information on away ties though. I've been to Headingly twice and Durham to see rained off games. Surely that's more loyalty than an hour at TB watching a championship game.
Football clubs have loyalty schemes, where they sell and log all ticket sales, home and away. Would mean Notts selling t20 away tickets though.

  4. So it's a ballot to get tickets!

Will there be a limit on the amount of times a member can apply, through linked accounts?
Will seats be allocated randomly, or will you get to sit next to family?

The ridiculous thing is each member can get two tickets, so it could transpire that 50% of Notts tickets could be allocated to non-members.

I'm sure someone somewhere will have the answers.

  5. 177 partnership between Rikki Wessells and Moeen Ali tonight for the Worcestershire Rapids - beware!!!

    1. Moeen Ali was dropped on 5 by the keeper. It serves to highlight how crucial holding catches can be and having a wicket keeper rather than a stopper behind the stumps.

  6. And Fielders who can catch! - Notts benefitted by 3 dropped catches last Thursday also.

  7. I think this ballot's as fair as any other system. This is a problem of Warks' making, not Notts'. I wonder if The 100 might prove more attractive to the Elvises and Sweet Caroliners next season, and leave this one free for people who want to watch their team play cricket.

    1. What they should have done was, use the data collected at the only Saturday game Outlaws had during the Blast competition at home and give those Members that attended, first dibs on tickets. That game was incidently, the least attended game because of weather, against Leicestershire. Only the hardy turn-up that day and you will need to be hardy to survive Finals Day in late September.

Yes, BIG Dave G, it wasn't the nicest of days and chairs were at a premium inside the pavilion as a bonus. This is the ONLY Notts game I am happy to watch on the evil SKY rather than attend the live game itself. I went to the first finals day at the Home of Cricket when no one else wanted to host it when the then Surrey Lions triumphed but I personally just don't like the three games in a day format with someone being knocked out in the first game then having to hang around for hours. Let's hope it's a repeat of two years ago instead. I do find the ticket allocation puzzling though, loyal supporters who have gone to the majority of games both home and away should surely be guaranteed a ticket ahead of the slightly more fair weather members ? I suspect they're will not be a great take up amongst the Notts members at that price and have a feeling most members wanting to go will be lucky. Regarding SKY, whilst I agree with most people's sentiments I don't remember a queue of broadcasters wanting to cough up the money when Cricket was last shown on terrestrial tv fourteen years ago. The dear old Beeb had given up on cricket completely so you cannot blame the ECB in taking SKYs money. It has kept the game sustainable during this period.

    3. I don't think it would be fair to retrospectively choose a game to award priority. A game could be highlighted before the season starts as one which would accrue merit in this way.

Just to add to my comments above.....I do also completely understand that some members cannot attend games due to financial and working commitments and also possibly due to health issues

  9. Yes, 'Stonewall' and others, there is not a simple solution to the ticketing issue. When demand exceeds supply then a Ballot seems as fair a way as any but Members should always be given priority. What seems entirely wrong is the very low allocation per Qualifying County - if it was increased to 2000 per County that would seem a lot fairer. We can, and do, blame Notts for lots of things but this isn't one of them!

  10. First comment on the QF as I was abroad with work and driving back from London during the qf. I streamed Radio Nottingham commentary and they were perplexed and annoyed with the Nash selection.
Thankfully the signal cut out - and I retuned to radio London who had the better commentary which eventually went national once the test had finished.
I’d agree with the comments earlier. Gurney seems to have many bad overs to complement his death bowling. Nash was an inspired choice. Wood back for another finals day.
I hope we don’t hire in big guns for the one off occasion.
86 quid and only 750 tickets. I’ll leave that but wasn’t the T20 finals day the one we swapped with Warwickshire for the odi in May??
