Suggest it OUGHT to be a big year for Jake Libby next season. Or will the old perennial be maintained of automatically offering a new two yearer?
ReplyDeleteShows what a brilliant player Samit has been for us down the years. In what could be his final year for us, lets hope he can get back in the starting line up and sign off with some match winning performances
ReplyDeleteI’m confused
ReplyDeleteNot by the “100” or its rules or draft or logic of trying to attract a new audience to cricket. Although that is confusing.
Now is the time of year when we indeed start to read of contract extensions, changes of personnel etc. Lyon to Hants, Reece extended at Derbys etc. All shows some long in the making planning so that teams can build for 2020.
But silence from Notts.
We must have known we were down since.........July? I get that mid season announcements are not the done thing. But it’s October. I don’t hear anything.
Maybe there is detailed discussion going on. And let’s credit Mick with doing some good overseas player deals. But I think I’d expected to hear about the coaches by now, as well as some sort of new coming players.
My membership cost has gone up by more than inflation. This despite the ground and coaches being used for the Trent Rockets- for whom I will be charged if I want to go and watch.
So I’m a bit baffled. I have a spend responsibility at work of tens of millions (shameless plug for my forthcoming committee application) so I think I understand budgeting and planning.
So help me! What’s going “off” out there? Have I mis-read or mis-heard anything???
I think that the 1-year Contract which may have been offered to Mr Moores is unacceptable and he may be seeking at least a 2-year one - hence why nothing yet heard from our Committee.
ReplyDeleteThere also needs to be clarification of salary adjutments for Notts players joing the 100-knockabout - so I trust that Alex and Harry's salaries will be reduced as they will not, of course, be Notts players for the time spent contracted to the KP Renegades. I trust the same will apply to Coaches etc. - in fact anyone on the Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club payroll who is joining the 100's.
