  1. For me Samit Patel a fantastic fighter for Notts when we are in trouble. Been vital for us way before that time too. All that and seems a really nice, kindly man

  2. Yes, I go for Samit also on the basis of games played across all 3 formats and big match performances when it matters with both bat and ball

  3. Luke Fletcher - out-and-out Notts and a REAL human being. His 'flaws' only endear him even more and now as a husband and father I am sure that he will continue to be a really positive role model.

  4. Well, the best year was 2017 when we won the One Day Double (50 overs and T20). I was there at Edgbaston on Finals Day when we won the Final having collapsed to 30 for 3. Samit and B Taylor put together a potentially match-winning partnership which was transformed into a massive score for that pitch of 190 by DC's 24 off 8 balls at the death. It's hard to select a top player - Alex Hales scored 187 not out to win the RL Final. But overall, I would say Samit for his frequent performances across formats to win from nowhere. Even last year, although we lost the RL 50 semi, in the final group game at Northants when we needed to win, it was Samit who won the game with 136 not out - but also a wonderful innings from Tom Moores. Tom's done some great things in white ball but needs to hit consistency more often. So, for 2015-2020, I would say Samit Patel. For 2020-2025, we'll see!

  5. I'm going for two. Luke Fletcher and Chris Read.

  6. Riki Wessels. While Alex (or Michael) were all power at one end, Riki was so stylish. Timing allied to power - such a gifted batsman. And despite being a proficient keeper too, IMO he was often our best and most reliable outfielder too. Also though quiet, he was one of the good guys. Can I also add James Taylor. Though he only just qualifies. Obviously an absolute travesty for himself and his family (fortunately picked up), but I feel even with England absence factored in, his presence alone was huge to Notts.

  7. I don't think it's possible to seperate the two men who bleed green and gold, and who both demonstrate 100% passion everytime they step onto the field - Samit and Fletch. Mullaney is a close third.

    1. As favourites go, Fletch is a Championship crowd favourite but Samit is a Friday night T20 crowd favourite for sure.
