Match abandoned with a toss
So there is some truth about Leics being our bogey team
ReplyDeleteMore the bogey than any of the others of our regular opponents.
DeleteYes and also the fact the Foxes were up amongst the best T20 outfits in the early years, winning the trophy 3 times I think, whilst we were an awful white ball side for many years. This started to change in 2006 with the brilliant David Hussey when we got to a qtr final for the first time and then stuffed Northants. We only reached real consistency from about 2010 onwards when getting to the quarters is know almost 'a given' for us. Small outfits like Leicester and Northants have worked out a close knit team of mainly young hungry players accompanied by 2 good overseas white ball exponents can bring relative success in this format far more easily than the more difficult task of assembling a squad to get promoted and then stay in Division One in red ball cricket(I guess although we are a a big club we are the case in point with this example)
