Jack Brooks, the forgotten man of Taunton, has become the first Covid-substitute after Lewis Gregory had to withdraw from the Somerset side on day 3 of their current match, after his girlfriend developed symptoms, but tested negative with a LFT. Lewis himself, contracted Covid earlier in the year playing for Islamabad United.

Notts Part of Edgbaston 25% Capacity Trial

Warwickshire have announced that their County Championship fixture against Nottinghamshire will allow fans, with Edgbaston operating at 25% capacity.

The club's members will be given first priority for tickets to the match, which is scheduled to start on 25 May.

The fixture will operate in line with government guidelines, with seating reserved and distanced.

"It's crucial that those attending feel secure," the club's chief executive Stuart Cain told their website.

"The members were brilliant last year, with many donating their fees to support the club during the Covid-19 lockdown, so it's great to finally get the chance to say thank you in person."

Edgbaston held a successful trial after the first lockdown in 2020, during which a maximum of 2,000 were allowed to attend a friendly game before the Bob Willis Trophy.

"We've taken the latest government advice and combined it with our own experiences from last year's pilot to create what we think is the safest possible environment to enjoy cricket," added Cain. BBCSport

  1. I am confused.
Is this sort of a step further than 4,000 limit for match starting at The Bridge on 20th May ?

Snap and Ditto. Surely is it just not part of the lockdown easing on May 17th and sports stadiums opening up again with reduced capacity and restrictions?

  3. Reading the ammended lockdown rules commencing 17th May I assumed all Counties could admit spectators totalling 25% of their ground capacity ( max 10,000 !)
Presumably Notts will allow c 4,000 into their up and coming home 4 day match at TB starting 20 th May?
Then as I understand it there will be NO CAPACITY RESTRICTIONS AFTER 21st June!
    Is that correct?
Of course its all subject to the Covid figures going in the right positive direction.
    Fingers crossed!

Advice for those intending to purchase . Read the extensive new Covid ground rules and regulations first via the Notts website . Its going to be a different experience down there for a while with pretty major changes about what you can and cant do
