Postcard from Downunder - Drummoyne Oval

The Drummoyne Oval wicket seemed to play true . Harris and Handscomb batted carefully. Harris was dropped twice but both played some attractive strokes particularly the cut shots by Handscomb. The NSW bowling was generally a little too short which is the wrong thing to do to Handscomb especially. The "crowd" was paltry. I counted 100. Anyway it was thoroughly enjoyable after a long time away from watching cricket at a ground notwithstanding that I did not see a wicket fall as I left at Tea.

Sheffield Shield Scoreboard after Day 3 of 4:
NSW 151 and 33-1
Victoria 199 and 290-3 dec. Harris 137 Handscomb 115
NSW need a further 306 runs to win, Victoria 9 wickets.

  1. Great to hear about you watching Sheffield Shield, and nice change from seemingly endless short form matches.
