Nottinghamshire Cricket Annual 2022.
Published by the Nottingham Cricket Lovers’ Society.
Available mid-March. Price £5.
2021 saw the passing of the
irreplaceable long-standing club archivist and librarian Peter Wynne-Thomas,
aged 86 years. Peter was the Editor of the Notts Annual between 1975 and 1981
and he returned as Editor between 1992 and 2015 (editing 31 Editions in total).
After
Notts CCC decided in the autumn of 2018 that they would no longer produce
an annual, Peter was very much to the fore in ensuring the annual would be
published helped by a group of volunteers from the Nottingham Cricket Lovers’
Society, including obviously himself. This independent publication is going
from strength and strength and we will continue to not only cover Notts CCC but
all cricket played throughout the county, which was very much how Peter saw the
role of the annual. A full tribute and obituary to Peter is contained within the
annual. Peter Griffiths provides a full bibliography of Peter’s publications.

Thanks to everyone for putting this together and so right that we remember Peter.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a tremendous team effort to put the annual together- so well done all round.
ReplyDeleteWe acquired a couple of copies of this excellent publication last Thursday before an also excellent night of speaking by Mick Newell. Absolute bargain at just £5, assume it will be on sale in the club shop, as in previous years also ?
ReplyDeleteOn Twitter a Derbyshire Supporter (Roy) had been on his travels and fed back to David Griffin about handbooks:
ReplyDeleteI was at the Oval & Worcester recently and copies of yearbooks were in bountiful supply. My county however will not even consider preordered/prepaid publication with no loss or wastage. Doesn’t make sense to a simple, ordinary county member. Pushed to the margins. Stay safe.

Some still do one. Nottinghamshire have revitalised their publication with significant member support
@Nottsview
while Yorkshire's is still a quality book. At Derbyshire we're looking at options for 2023...
