Nottinghamshire to Kent
12/09
Nottinghamshire to Leicestershire
As predicted last week, Sol Budinger will join Leicestershire for the rest of the season on loan, before joining the county on a permanent basis.
Another sad departure and another direct result of the Moores/Newell padlocked gate to the player pathway policy and the fewer opportunities presented when senior players don't move up to International honours, when they perhaps ought to have had or are playing just rubbish and should be dropped but aren't. Less games would represent even fewer opportunities, ECB.

Zak Chappell to boomerang, as Glos have the sense to explain:
23 June 2022
Zak Chappell has been recalled from his loan at Gloucestershire for Notts Outlaws' two Vitality Blast North Group fixtures against Derbyshire and Durham.
Chappell, who has spent the last couple of months on loan at The Shire, will return to Trent Bridge for the Outlaws’ next two fixtures, set to be played tonight and tomorrow (Friday), with a view to returning to the Seat Unique Stadium for LV= Insurance County Championship action thereafter.
The 25-year-old fast bowler is on loan at Gloucestershire until 15 July having had his initial month-long-loan extended.
Steve Snell, Performance Director at Gloucestershire Cricket, said: “It’s been great to have Zak with us. He’s been excellent around the group with his personality and has added some excellent attributes on the field when representing Gloucestershire; we hope to see more of him this summer.”
20/06
Nottinghamshire to Leicestershire
Joey Evison on a short loan from Thursday until 24th July
Trent Bridge spin:
Nottinghamshire all-rounder Joey Evison has joined Leicestershire on a short-term loan, beginning Thursday.
The 20-year-old featured in Notts’ opening two games of the County Championship season, scoring his maiden First-Class century, before succumbing to injury.
His return to action has stepped up in recent weeks with a string of controlled appearances for the club’s second XI.
The move to Leicestershire, which runs until 24 July, provides Evison the opportunity to gain competitive game time ahead of a crucial second half of the season for the Green and Golds.
“Joey made such a strong start to the season with his maiden First-Class century at Sussex, and we were as frustrated as he was when he had to take time out through injury a few weeks later,” said Nottinghamshire Head Coach Peter Moores.
“But setbacks like those are part and parcel of life in professional sport, and Joey’s attitude, commitment and desire to get back on the park have been really impressive – just as we expected them to be, really.
“This is a great opportunity for him to get some more time in the middle, and overs under his belt, at first team level, so he can be in the best possible shape to make an impact for us during a busy final two months of the season.”

ReplyDeletethat's no use if there's a chuffin' strike!
DeleteI find the Evison news astonishing given our current t20 position; we have no clue what is happening with Ball, Chappell is still on loan, Fletcher, Patterson and Pattinson are getting hit all over the place. Prioritise the red ball game, rest up those players who have played in t20 and the 4 day matches so far, and use the t20 to give others (Evison, Chappell, James, LPW, Slater) some experience of it
ReplyDeleteWhy on earth are we loaning out our most talented young batsman to another county. In a word, madness. He should be playing for Notts next week against Middlesex. Evison and young keeper / batsman Schadendorf are two highly skilled cricketers, and unless the they start getting regular first team action with Notts, they will lose them both, to other counties which will be a shortsighted approach from management, and a dereliction of duty.
ReplyDeleteI agree Mark, you wouldn't have thought it that myopia could spread like a disease, but the head coach has indeed caught it from our DoC.
