Dr Bansil's Patients

14/07

Lyndon James has the slightest of side strains which prevents him from bowling.

11/07

With the doctor away, his patient lists have been reduced...

Jake Ball, Matt Carter and Zak Chappell are all playing for the Seconds today.

10/07

No news on any patients but Tom Moores has consumed a box of tissues, rumour has it! Any prescriptions remain confidential.

The good doctor will be relying on other services for the delivery of the Pattinson child, so let's hope it's not a bumper of a delivery, but is short and has a successful outcome.

02/07

Just time to pop into the surgery for Dan Christian, who broke a finger on Friday, before he flies home.

Busy week for the practice as CoViD LFT kits having been in great demand. It is believed Peter Moores, Kevin Shine, Paul Franks and Roger Marshall have all tested "positive" - like anything "negative" at Trent Bridge, that's news you won't hear or have confirmed by the club. Club Pravda rules ok!

Jake Ball has recovered from his secret knee injury, whilst Zak Chappell has his feet up, resting!

24/06

If was his sore side that kept Zak Chappell out tonight, he was lucky that he still made the trip north as it gave him an opportunity for a consultation with his former specialist Dr Pipe.

Looking at the live stream, it looks as though James Pipe now has a gig with Durham, now that the Lucknow See-You-Laters has concluded.

23/06

Dr Bansil has weaved his magic again, Zak Chappell is included in the squad for the next two games, after Notts withdrew him from the loan at Bristol.

22/06

Yesterday Dr Bansil's receptionist had quite thrill, I understand. It was quite like meeting an old friend again after a prolonged separation, so I (wasn't really) told.

Phone call...

x:               "Can I make an appointment as soon as possible, to see the good doctor?"

Receptionist: "for what name is it please?"

x:                  "Zak, Zak Chappell"

Receptionist: "as it's you Zak, come right away, and you'll love the new comfy seats we've now got after you wore out the old ones"

x:                  "I'll be there ASAP, I just have a short journey to make..... from Bristol"

Zak Chappell was seen at Trent Bridge yesterday evening and according to Glos CCC, has a "side soreness".

17/06

Jake Ball, it appears, is back under the care of the good doctor again. The practice managers (Trent Bridge) have not seen fit to inform supporters for the reason of Jake's absence for the past two weeks, although we know he was well enough to go on a jolly to the Test Match earlier in the week. We must conclude that Jake's absence is of a personal, delicate, confidential nature and not fitness related or a recurrence of his bad back, nor ican it be covid.

Joey Evison never returned to bowling after his return to match action. Is this a moon boot complication?

22/05

Joey Evison's sick note expires this week.

11/05

Dane Paterson has a stiff neck and sits out the game at Lord's.

28/04

Zak Chappell and Jake Ball are both making tentative steps away from Dr Bansil's care. The only appointment today is for Joey Evison's foot which is now encased in a "moon boot" and he will be sidelined for 5 - 6 weeks.

14/04

Word around Trent Bridge is that Notts and Dr Bansil are "managing" Lyndon James' condition. The "i" word wasn't used so let's call it a protracted recuperation from his operation last year. Putting in a double shift at Hove was probably not in the recovery programme - hence now his being "managed".

Mysteriously, Zak Chappell looks to be hanging around the squad again, without being part of the squad, like some kid on work experience.

10/04

A calf injury means that Luke Fletcher joins Dr Bansil's appointment list, but what of others?

Is Jimmy Pattinson in the country yet? Is Dane Paterson fit? Zak Chappell, is he fit and is he going out on loan?

04/04

With queues for Dr Pipe's appointments now stretching from Watnall to Lucknow; it's lucky that Notts can now utilise the little publicised new practice of Dr Bansil on Radcliffe Road.

Joining Jake Ball,"not fit until the end of May", with his dodgy back and Stuart Broad, so fatigued after an arduous winter, needing an extra week to recover, Dr Bansil now has a telephone consultation with Jimmy Pattinson from Australia.

  1. Always a risk with a risk with him
But if we get him on the field, he is a match winner.

  2. The report i saw a couple of days ago suggested the calf strain was minor, So hopefully Patto will be soon be back bowling, In the past this might have mattered if our overseas signing had got injured, Thankfully thats not the case now and with the possibility a certain S Broad might be given the nod to play the attack should not suffer at all.

Speaking of bowlers does anyone know whats happening with Jake Ball? He is very conspicuous by his absence.

  3. Yes he’s crocked with a back problem and out for the first few games. Like the way there’s nil news about it on Pravda

  4. Thanks ORAC, Its such a shame JB has suffered so many injuries, Sadly he seems to becoming something of a sick note So. Lets hope this latest problem is short term and he is able to enjoy a few injury free years.

And yes i do agree that news from Notts about injured players is harder to find than hens teeth.

  5. Likely to be business as usual for the Notts physio team. Usual suspects in Zac, Jake, and the Aussie Patto, will be keeping them busy until the end of September Realistically, Jake probably only upto playing T20 now, as his back appears to be a constant problem.

  6. The Chappell of Rest, is indeed, a very rare medical case for Dr. Bansil and his team of S&C experts

A case study very unlikely to be seen again and one that has defied all medical expertise and opinion so far.
A similar, rare species, known as the ‘Coglan’ would now appear to have found the miracle cure Zak is still waiting for and one that now seems him actually taking the field for Durham in consecutive games.

  7. Has Matt Carter also got Covid or is he at a boot camp to shed for few pounds before the blessed Hundred?
