Leicestershire Pre-season Friendly at Trent Bridge Draw

Day 2

Rain associated with Storm Mathis saw that no play was possible.

Day 1

Leicestershire after an uncontested toss, batted first and reached 37/1 (Sol Budinger 31*) before rain ended the first session.

More play was possible in the second session as Leicestershire progressed to 150/6 (including 3 retirements) in 40 overs before the tea break. 6 Notts bowlers had had an opportunity to have a workout including Dane Paterson (6-3-18-1)

After tea Notts reached 6/0 in 2.5 overs before rain arrived again.

On returning Notts romped to 181/2 from 28 overs

In another case of deja vu, this match has been also switched to Trent Bridge, and again played behind closed doors and not streamed.

Nottinghamshire’s final fixture of their pre-season campaign against Leicestershire will be played behind-closed-doors at Trent Bridge, in a switch of venues from the Uptonsteel Country Ground.

Inclement weather in the lead up to the season has inhibited Leicestershire from completing the necessary work to the pitch and outfield to stage the game.

Trent Bridge has, therefore, agreed to host the clash in question, with our East Midlands neighbours focussing upon preparing the grounds for the start of the LV= Insurance County Championship season.

The game is scheduled to take place on Thursday 30 and Friday 31 March, with updates available on Nottinghamshire’s social media platforms and website.

Unfortunately, due to the short notice, admittance can not be granted for spectators, and the game will not be streamed.
