Today a Gold Sovereign scraps at £845
So 200 x £845 = £169,000 !
An incredible stat for back in the day !

ReplyDeleteThe scrap value of a full Sovereign ( 8 grams of 22ct gold) has dropped slightly recently . But 200 Sovs today would still sell for OVER £160,000!
A terrific amount of money to play for — today - never mind 200 years ago .
