Doug Bracewell Charlie Ban

The Cricket Regulator has imposed a two-year suspension on former Essex CCC cricketer Doug Bracewell.

Mr Bracewell produced an Adverse Analytical Finding (AAF) for the presence of cocaine and its Metabolite, benzoylecgonine, related to an In Competition sample collected on the 25th September 2025.

Mr Bracewell and his former County are aware and the player has accepted the sanction. No further comment will be made on this matter.

The umpires reported Archie Vaughan’s conduct during Somerset CCC’s County Championship match against Hampshire CCC on 19 April 2026. The matter was considered by the Match referee, Wayne Noon, who determined that the offence was at Level 1 of the ECB Professional Conduct Regulations: 1(b) wilfully mistreating any part of the cricket ground, equipment or implements used in the match.

The umpires reported Liam Dawson’s conduct during Hampshire CCC’s County Championship match against Somerset CCC on 19 April 2026. The matter was considered by the Match referee, Wayne Noon, who determined that the offence was at Level 1 of the ECB Professional Conduct Regulations: 1(b) wilfully mistreating any part of the cricket ground, equipment or implements used in the match.

The umpires reported Luke Holman’s conduct during Middlesex CCC’s 2nd XI friendly Match against Essex 2nd XI on 16 April 2026. The umpires determined that the offence was at Level 1 of the ECB Professional Conduct Regulations: 1(b) wilfully mistreating any part of the cricket ground, equipment or implements used in the match.

The umpires reported Lauren Winfield-Hill’s conduct during Yorkshire Women’s Metro Bank One Day Cup Match against Surrey Women on 15 April 2026. The matter was considered by the Match referee, Helen Pack, who determined that the offence was at Level 1 of the ECB Professional Conduct Regulations: 1(c) Showing dissent at an umpire’s decision by word or action.

The umpires reported Lauren Winfield-Hill’s conduct during Yorkshire Women’s Metro Bank One Day Cup Match against Surrey Women on 15 April 2026. The matter was considered by the Match referee, Helen Pack, who determined that the offence was at Level 1 of the ECB Professional Conduct Regulations: 1(d) - using language that, in the circumstances, is obscene, offensive, or insulting.

The umpires reported Joe Pocklington’s conduct during Nottinghamshire CCC’s 2nd XI friendly against Hampshire CCC 2nd XI on 08 April 2026. The matter was considered by the Match umpires, B. Peverall and G. Cross, who determined that the offence was at Level 1 of the ECB Professional Conduct Regulations: 1(c) Showing dissent at an umpire’s decision by word or action.

The umpires reported Shoaib Bashir’s conduct during Derbyshire CCC’s County Championship match against Worcestershire CCC on 06 April 2026. The matter was considered by the Match Referee, Mike Smith, who determined that the offence was at Level 2 of the ECB Professional Conduct Regulations: 2 (c) - deliberate distraction, deception or obstruction on the field of play under Law 41.4 or 41.5.
