Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag has been fined 25% of his match fee after being seen vaping in the dressing room during an Indian Premier League match.

Parag, 24, was seen inhaling from a device during television coverage of Tuesday's IPL match against Punjab Kings.

Organisers said he had breached the tournament's code of conduct, relating to "conduct that brings the game into disrepute".

Parag has admitted the offence.

He has also been given one demerit point but the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said it is "exploring other options" for "stringent action" against the team, officials and player to "ensure the reputation of IPL remains intact".

The use of e-cigarettes is illegal in India for nicotine consumption.

Earlier in the tournament Royals team manager Ravinder Singh Bhinder was fined after being seen using a mobile phone in the dugout during a match. BBCSport
