You don't know what you're doing!

The recently criticised batsmen at Durham failed again today, badly. Playing against the reigning champions at Chester le Street, they were dumped out for 102. No ducks but the highest score was just 25 (Paul Collingwood), more embarrassing was the second highest score of 13 (leg byes - Mr Extras scored 21 in total).
Luke Procter 5/17

Lancashire made a shaky start themselves but then staged a bit of a recovery and then had another stumble and re-recovery before stumps at 141/8 - Mr Extras leading the way with 24 and counting, aided and abetted by opener Paul Horton 31 not out

Nick Compton's quest to score 1000 runs before the end of this month took a massive step backwards at Worcester today. The Pear hosts closed the day (30th May) on 270/3, giving Compton only a glimmer of a chance of even getting to bat tomorrow.

Chris Nash and Murray Goodwin were two waddling ducks at Lord's today as Sussex closed the first day 242/8.

Division 2 leaders, Derbaaaashire were also shot out cheaply. At Bristol, Gloucestershire, former known as Proctorshire, dismissed the pace setters for 95, no batsman reached 20 runs. Will Gidman, 4/29. In reply the home team are 182/5, Kane Williamson 56, Alex Gidman 72 not out at stumps.

Yorkshire, under the influence of Geoffrey Boycott, club President and Demi-god (or so they say), have dropped Adil Rashid from the first team, having "not progressed". Rashid finds himself in the second eleven squad to play a T20 match at Bradford as the 1st XI play at Leeds against Northants.

Northants were bowled out for 253, Rashid's replacement, Azeem Rafiq 1/41. Tykes were 27/0 at stumps.

Glamorgan established a clear advantage over the Foxes today on Day 2 at Cardiff.

Leicester were all out for 271, former Fox James Allenby 4/39. The Welsh were 302/5 at stumps, thanks to Australian Marcus North 116. Leicestershire employed 8 different bowlers, emphasising their lack of purpose or forward planning, otherwise known as "not having a flippin' clue"..

GREEN LIGHT AT BRISTOL

GCCC RESPONSE TO BRISTOL CITY COUNCILPLANNING COMMITTEE DECISION
Bristol City Council’s Development Control Committee has today (Wednesday, May 30, 2012) approved planning permission for a housing development on Gloucestershire County Cricket Club’s County Ground in Bristol.

This will enable the club, which has been based on the site for 122 years, to provide new facilities and support the growth plans for cricket in the region as well as a venue capable of supporting international games.

This includes a new-look pavilion, state-of-the-art media centre, business centre, improved community programme and upgrade of cricketing facilities.

GCCC Chief Executive, Tom Richardson, said: “We are very pleased that the committee has come to this decision as it finally allows us to realise our ambitions in bringing the very best of what cricket can offer to our home city.

“We have many people to thank – it has been a long journey and a huge amount of hard work has gone into it, which in turn has been supported by residents across Bristol, including our local area of Bishopston.

“We can now look forward to making the next stage of our plans happen.”
