Horton carries his bat

During a short window of opportunity with the weather, Lancashire extended their lead over Durham to 68 before Graham Onions claimed his fifth wicket leaving Paul Horton 49 not out. Durham were 0/0 when the weather closed-in again.


At Lord's a shortened day saw Middlesex close-in on Sussex's total with fifties from Eoin Morgan and Chris Rogers.


Somerset's bowlers did their best to give Nick Compton a chance of achieving the feat of a 1000 runs before June arrives but the weather had other ideas, at stumps Compton sits 9 not out, 50 short of the milestone.


7th change bowler for Leicester
At Cardiff, Leicestershire employed a ninth bowler of the innings as Glamorgan declared on 558/9, Mark Wallace 118. In their second innings Foxes closed at 84/1.


At stumps on Day 2 at Bristol, Derbyshire have a lead of 12 runs over Gloucs with 5 wickets remaining, 4 more wickets for Will Gidman.


Joe Root was closing in on another century as stumps arrived at Leeds against Northamptonshire, Yorkshire trailing by 76 but with 7 wickets in hand; Root 92 not out.
