Palladino Hat Trick in the derby at Grace Road

Leicestershire found themselves in a fairly familiar position of 7/3 after Tony Palladino bowled a hat trick of wickets on day one of the Division Two East Midlands Derby.


The former Essex boy took the wickets of Michael Thornely, Ned Eckersley and Raminaresh Sarwan.

50 from Matt Boyce and 30 from Josh Cobb steadied the ship for the hosts but at tea HMS Fox were still on stormy seas at 168/7, Kadeer Ali, returning from the seconds and Staffordshire 47 not out.

Straight after tea, the divisional leaders finished off their foe.
