This question was posed on VFTB:
Can Mick win?
Results have improved a bit. Performances have been more promising. The fielding that was being criticised has improved, to the delight of Mick Newell. The feeling of positivity around Trent Bridge has grown and we're still not eliminated from the T20 race for fourth spot (as of before the game at Chester le Street).
Does all this leave Mick Newell in a lose, lose situation?
If Notts don't get relegated and make the Q/Fs (or better) in the T20 and do well in the ODC - this will perhaps be attributed to the appointment of Peter Moores, begging the question: why do we need the middle man (MN).
If Notts crash and burn from now on, get relegated, finish 5th in T20 North group and are ODC no hopers, this will have happened under Newell's stewardship and he will have to carry the can and face the axe (if Lisa allows it).
Can Mick win? Discuss.................................
Not always totally serious and by fans for the fans of Notts Outlaws and Nottinghamshire CCC. Why not contribute yourself; write a review, article, photographs, statistics or to have a whine. No offence is ever intended, just a smile. Words are just opinions and not certified facts.
