Postcard from New South Wales

IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF A LEGEND

Hi everyone

It was a memorable experience. We played a 40 overs a side game between ourselves. I turned my arm over
and went for 17 in 3 overs and when batting struck a couple
of singles before holing out to point.

Thus in terms of personal performance no great shakes but the day was just great. The location is beautiful and to be on the same ground that the wonderful Bradman man played
on was very special.

Our team bowled our opponents out for 159 whilst we were dismissed for 115 but in many senses the scores did not matter too much. I was just relieved not to be out for a duck.....photos will be on Harry's Facebook (later today).

WHO DO THINK YOU ARE CHRIS ROGERS?

I had a long conversation with Judy and John Griffith. John is a local umpire and was out in the middle on this occasion whilst Judy is Chris Rogers's Auntie and a cricket tragic herself ! Chris is off to Somerset this summer.....he actually hails from Sydney but Judy who had been researching the family tree and discovered that the Rogers family who were lace workers originally came from Sneinton in Nottingham.

Australia No.1?

Trent Bridge and the 2 and a bit days Test seems to have been conveniently forgotten about..
 cheers Andy
