Peter Siddle not now to Return

25/02/16

After scans following the last test in New Zealand, where Peter pulled up lame and with concerns about back pain, Siddle has been diagnosed with stress fractures of his spine. As a consequence of the necessary prolonged convalescence  period, Siddle will not be joining Notts in 2016 after all. Mick Newell, says that he hopes to have a replacement installed for the start of the season, which starts next month.

03/01/16 Siddle Injury:

Peter Siddle will sit out the remainder of the Big Bash League in a bid to be fit for Australia's two-Test tour of New Zealand.
Siddle was ruled out of the third Test against West Indies at the SCG due to an ankle injury and he will continue his rehabilitation while Australia's domestic Twenty20 tournament continues during January.
The 31-year-old Victorian, who is contracted to BBL outfit Melbourne Renegades, is not thought to be in doubt for the trip to New Zealand at this stage but will be closely monitored in the lead-up.

10/11/15

Nottinghamshire have re-signed Peter Siddle on a two year deal to play Championship and 50 overs cricket for the entirety of each season, in theory.

Victorian Siddle last played for Notts in 2014, taking 37 wickets in 11 matches. 2015 saw Peter play for Lancashire ahead of the joining the touring Australians.

Good news as he certainly played with effort and commitment when we last had him and was in reflection unlucky not to have taken more wickets than he did. The real boost is that being there will be to the benefit the young bowlers on the staff with his experience.
