Seven weeks and one day, makes it fifty days until the County Championship returns...

As we're into February, I thought I'd add the pre-season knockabouts, both of which are at Trent Bridge this year.

Terrible ! Almost like it is deliberate sabotage !
ReplyDelete79 days between the fourth and fifth championship matches at Trent Bridge with 2 Blast and 1 MBC in the meantime (scheduled). But they will say that there are Blaze matches (2/3?). Poor offer for July and August.
DeleteI agree ☝️, it’s awful π’ and that’s forgetting any allegiance I may have for The Blaze matches inbetween our red ballers
DeleteThe only thing is A) it’s never π going to be any good now is it ? and B) although the championship fixtures are this way, at least we still have our 14 games so I am happy(ish)π to accept them on these terms, albeit 3 in September is absolutely bonkers π to me personally
82 NOT OUT
ReplyDeleteITS UNBELIEVABLE!
A 79 day gap between the fourth anf fifth Championship game at TB ! And in the height of summer !
How the “proper cricket” fans are being discarded and treated like they are of no consequence !
County cricket is being slowly pushed to the Fringes of the summer. Red Ball early April then 4 or 5 rounds in Sept. Final round nearly Oct! Who wants to watch then?
ReplyDeleteNo first team county cricket in August just a ruined 50 over tournement. And basically a T20 comp looking more weakened every year with very little Ecb support.
So pleased now I ended membership. - steve
82 NOT OUT
ReplyDeleteThe good old days at TB when we sat around the boundary in our comfy reclining chairs are well and truly gone . We could also nip to the scorboard area to the Ladbrookes cabin to have a little bet when things went quiet ( Mike Smedley batting perhaps?). And sometimes call and have a chat with old Steward Les , who was in charge of moving the old heavy sightscreen under the old Raddy Road stand . Chatting to the players fielding on the boundary was quite normal - had some interesting exchanges ! Great days with a Life Membership of Notts ccc available for £600 !
Can’t believe there is ANY Notts supporter/Member who was not ecstaticly happy π with last season’s red ball campaign, albeit the fixtures will never π return to the days of playing all through the summer months - for the obvious reasons
ReplyDeleteOn top π of the incredible success, don’t think I can remember being cold π₯Ά once and I went to every days home π‘ scheduled play. In fact it was keeping out of the sun last season at times in those heatwaves. I know some lads were cold π₯Ά at Edgbaston but I streamed that one. And all that entertainment for just 209 of your English £££ss - that doesn’t get you too much thesedays
We have largely got away with the fixtures being what they are in recent times so let’s all hope the weather God’s are kind to us again this coming season
I still maintain a Notts membership is absolutely fabulous value for money π΄ as things stand this season. It may not be years down the line, who knows ? But personally I’ll worry about that when/if it happens and I’m just taking each new season as it comes
How right you are mate. See you in the Spring
DeleteThe choice is yours and long may you enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteActually I was not referring to not renewing at Notts.
Just county memberships in general are nowdays not great. Last summer was a one off weather wise. The previous year April and September were cold and wet - which is generally the norm.
Basically it's just the way the counties fixtures are now-dreadful. It's dying a slow death. I have great memories but sadly other than still playing indoor cricket only a passing interest. Even less in the England national side who just appear arrogant. Sorry I don't mean to affend anyone. - steve
You didn’t offend anyone Steve, you make very valid points and everyone is entitled to their opinions mate
DeleteThink we all agree regarding the fixtures they’re basically cr*p and will be forever now, I’m just making the best of a bad situation mate !!!!
