Hampshire have been fined £4,000 and handed suspended points deductions for breaches of discipline by players.

Two further player infringements in the same 12 months will trigger the penalty points.
Samit Patel and James Taylor

25/06 The ECB Cricket Discipline Commission (CDC) today confirmed Samit Patel and James Taylor have received penalties under the ECB’s discipline code.

Patel was reported by umpires Steve Garratt and Mark Benson during Nottinghamshire’s LV= County Championship match against Somerset from 14 to 17 June for a Level Two breach of the code (showing serious dissent at an umpire’s decision by word or action). The penalty for this offence is three penalty points.
Taylor was reported by umpires David Millns and Graham Lloyd during Nottinghamshire’s LV= County Championship match against Yorkshire from 22 to 25 June for two Level One breaches of the code (showing dissent at an umpire’s decision by word or action and abuse of cricket ground, equipment or fixtures/fittings).

The penalty for the initial Level One offence is a reprimand and the penalty for the subsequent Level One offence is three penalty points.

These penalties will remain on their records for a period of two years and the accumulation of nine or more penalty points in any two year period will result in an automatic suspension.

As reported in Ilkeston Advertiser.
