No hanging around at an out-ground - match quickly called-off once became apparent that the rain was set in.
Another point in the bag.
Currently the two strongest performers in the North, Lightning host Outlaws for the mid-week clash at Aigburth, Liverpool at Wednesday.
Outlaws make one change to their squad of 14, replacing Tom Barber with Imad Wasim.
Hales, Nash, Clarke, Duckett, Moores, Christian, Mullaney, Patel, Carter, Fletcher, Ball, Wasim, Chappell, Trego
So will Peter stick or twist in order to include Imad Wasim? Who will miss out or will he have a more elaborate juggle?
Lightning have so far had a regular squad of: Jennings, Davies, Croft, Vilas, Bohannon, Jones, Lamb, Bailey, Hartley, Hurt, Parkinson but will Luke Wood get to make his Lightning debut against familiar faces?
How many teams go through from the group please ?
ReplyDeleteBest 8 from the 3 groups Rich
ReplyDeleteThere are pros and cons of Wasim joining up now. On the positive side, he brings an extra squad option - more likely to play than Barber perhaps and gives Notts an extra slow bowler option. We seem to have sufficient t20 seam bowling all rounders.
ReplyDeleteOn the down side, I am surprised there is the money for a second overseas player. And I remember Wasim as being ok but not thrilling last year.
I guess it shows some ambition and of course there could be injuries to,come.
I was stunned when I heard the news. Some teams are not even having one overseas this time. It just shows how importantly our focus is on the white ball format(understandable to a point just wish the Hierarchy wouldn't deny it so vehemently)We clearly have the personnel far more equipped to play this format than the red ball whether that's by design or accident.
DeleteThought 'Maddy' did well for us last season and remember being disappointed he couldn't make Finals day. On the downside the batting is slightly weaker as I'm not convinced he offers too much with the willow. Presumably Carter has nailed down the other spinner's role now so will he come in for Patel or Mullaney ? It will be an interesting team conundrum
Watched him last night on MurdochTV and he was bowling 60mph darts at the England boys on what appeared to be a belter of a batting deck
At a guess I'd say Samir the one likely to lose his place to Wasim unless they change a winning side .like everyone else very surprised to see a 2nd overseas player .
Deletelast year went 3 spinners at home often - may be the same. But for whom? Can't drop a seamer (Ball or Fletcher) as only playing 2 specialists. May be like for like with Patel who seems out of form? Or could it be for Nash or Clarke, as didn't play both last year and Duckett was 3 last year, but Nash and Clarke scoring good runs.
ReplyDeleteNearly half the Blast 20 games have been " played" and so far we are unbeaten!
ReplyDeleteWhen is Finals Day ?!
3 October! Need to find out rule for if finals day and reserve day are both washouts. Does it come down to number of points in group stage?
ReplyDeleteDon't say that Max. What about the team mascots having a 'bowl out' at a set of stumps whilst wearing blindfolds?. That would be the spectacular SKY need in the event of a nightmare washout. MurdochTV did a promo and it showed a real person in "Lanky" the Lancashire giraffe. What an awful, crushing, blow I had always assumed they were real animals. Can't believe anyone is inside Nuts the Squirrel - he's real alright.
DeleteNuts is currently on furlough
ReplyDeleteShame. He had the most common sense on the team "support" staff
DeleteDoes anyone know when six is open?
ReplyDeleteWhen the cows come home ?
DeleteYour grace will know when it is open there will be one bloke sitting in it who looks like lord lucan
DeleteI am looking forward to eating pie and mash in the SIX RESTAURANT next season.
ReplyDeleteHard decisions will have to be taken in order to try and make it profitable
If indeed that actually could be done?
