Neil French 1964 - 2025 RIP

From the Welbeck CC Facebook

Over the weekend, we were deeply saddened to hear the passing of a lifelong member Neil French.
Neil was instrumental in the process of establishing our club to what it is today. Whilst being an excellent player on the field, he played a pivotal role alongside his brother Charlie in running our academy side and captained them in their early years. He was also heavily involved with our committee and was one of the influential voices when our club made the decision to move to our current facility, allowing our club to grow significantly to what it is today.
Neil was a fierce competitor on the field and will be remembered by many former opponents for his pace and ability with the new ball. His talent passed to his son, Rob, who has continued representing the French family in our 1st XI.
Neil will be greatly missed by the cricketing community and beyond.
Our thoughts are with the French family and friends at this time.

Neil French played for Lincolnshire and was also brother of Bruce and was uncle to Jake Ball
